<description>In this episode, we return to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to begin a new wildlife research project. Together with Andrew Simon, head of the ChornobylWild YouTube channel, we install trail cameras and a specialized bird sound recording device (PUC) to monitor animal activity in this remote and largely abandoned area. This video is not about results — it’s about the process. We show how wildlife monitoring equipment is selected, installed, powered, and carefully placed in the field, taking into account animal tracks, feeding signs, scratching trees, and the unique challenges of working inside the Exclusion Zone. The goal is simple: to continue collecting real data and find out what animals live here, move through this area, and sing in the surrounding forest. In the coming weeks, these cameras and audio sensors will work autonomously, recording movement and bird songs for later analysis. This is where the search begins.
