About two years ago, my friend Will purchased a 100W LED from ebay with a plug-in power adapter. I thought I could do better, so I got a bunch of 18650 ultrafire lithium ion batteries, hooked them in series and made a buck mode power supply using an AVR to control it. Photo album here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/110520978303193127914/albums/5800524841292618337 I didn't post the schematics anywhere... but I do have the layouts for Express PCB. Sadly it doesn't seem to have too many details: https://cnlohr.net/pubsvn/electrical/avr_smps/
