While I've only worked for about 20 hours so far on it, you can already see some progress. Once complete, I expect to release the source code. NOTE: All of the images for the friends are the images used from the publicly viewable profiles. The rules are very simple. All nodes repel each other. All nodes are attracted toward me. I am fixed. All nodes that are friends with each other generate a mass spring. All friends then become attracted to each other. This enables groups to form. On the left are my college friends and game development people on the lower left. On the right are all of my high school friends. I did not have to do anything short of the above rules to make the system self-organize into that.
